At the beginning of the easter holidays my Dad asked me to make him a label for his work. He makes pieces of furniture for people who ask him nicely; the majority of our house is filled with furniture made by him over the years. Most recently was a unit, table and chairs for our dinning room, and I vaguely recall a glass topped coffee table type thing made from interlocking railway sleepers, he made for friends last year.
He is making a series of tables for a friend at the moment and wanted to be able to attach a label to the underside of each to show who had made them. The label I designed is shown below, the image is a photograph of the table nest from our living room

The Box and the Books...
I have finished a series of small books and a box to contain them for The Book of 100 brief.
The box is made from ply wood with acetone printing on the sides. The books are spine stitched and made from heavy cartridge paper and cream card. The printing inside is acetone transferred, as is the text on the front. Each book is sealed with green wax.

Binding a book...
I really like this example of how to bind a book. Each of the double page spreads have a notch made in them, about 2cm away from the spine. An elastic band or string is then used to hold all of the pages together.
I think that this simple and lo-fi way of making a book is really interesting, and something that I can easily use and also consider for future projects.
